Flick (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a photo cleaning app that helps you review, organize, and remove unwanted photos from your device. We built Flick with privacy as a core principle — everything happens on your device, and we have no servers that receive your data.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the app accesses, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information. By using Flick, you agree to this policy.
Flick accesses certain information on your device to provide its core functionality. None of this information is transmitted off your device.
When you grant photo library access, Flick reads the following metadata from your device’s photo library:
This metadata is used to display photos in the app, group them by month, calculate storage statistics, and help you make decisions about which photos to keep or remove.
The app stores the following usage data locally on your device:
| Data | Purpose |
| Swipe decisions (keep/trash per photo) | Track reviewed photos and manage trash queue |
| Session history (photos reviewed, storage freed) | Show your cleaning progress and statistics |
| Daily activity counts | Streak tracking and gamification features |
| Achievements and XP progress | In-app rewards and level progression |
| Preferences (theme, haptics, notifications) | Personalize your app experience |
To be completely clear, Flick does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:
Flick requests the following device permissions:
Required for the app’s core functionality. Flick reads your photo library to display photos for review and can delete photos you mark as trash (with your confirmation). On iOS, you can grant full or limited photo access. Flick works with both.
Optional permission for local reminders. If enabled, Flick schedules notifications entirely on your device to remind you about streaks, weekly recaps, or when you haven’t cleaned in a while. No push notification servers are used. All notifications are scheduled and triggered locally by your device’s operating system.
You can disable notifications at any time from the app’s notification settings or your device settings.
All app data is stored locally on your device using:
Flick does not operate any servers, databases, APIs, or cloud infrastructure. There is no network communication between the app and any external service.
Your data is protected by your device’s built-in security features, including device encryption, biometric locks, and the operating system’s app sandboxing.
When you mark photos as “trash” in Flick, here’s what happens:
Flick never deletes photos without your explicit confirmation.
Flick does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or data processing services. The app contains:
The only external links in the app are to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service, which open in your device’s web browser.
You have complete control over your data:
Delete all data: Go to Settings → Delete All Data to permanently erase all app data, including session history, reviewed photos, achievements, and preferences.
Revoke photo access: Go to your device’s Settings → Flick → Photos to change or revoke photo library permissions at any time.
Disable notifications: Turn off notification reminders from the app’s notification settings or your device settings.
Uninstall: Removing Flick from your device deletes all associated app data. Your photos remain untouched in your photo library.
Since we don’t collect or store any data on external servers, there is no data to request, export, or have deleted from our end. All data exists solely on your device and is fully under your control.
Flick is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app does not collect any personal information from any user, there is no risk of inadvertent collection of children’s data.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us. However, given Flick’s fully offline architecture, no personal data is transmitted or stored externally.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through an in-app notice or by updating the “Effective Date” at the top of this page.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of Flick after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
